    A question about AGM`s

So I`m cruising around the Internet and kinda` looking for a new battery and I came across a couple and was wondering if anyone had ever dealt with the following:

BatteryMart.com is an online battery store for discount batteries including motorcycle batteries, alkaline batteries, lead acid batteries at affordable rates.

I like the price on this one.
The Scorpion YTX14AHL-BS motorcycle battery is a high-performance, sealed, non-spillable AGM battery. Features 210 CCA, 1-Year replacement warranty!

What do you guys recommend that won`t break the bank but will last more than a year?
    Thanks in advance.

    Do it the easy way

Go to a local Batteries Plus store..
The have an AGM (X2) battery for our bikes.
They are about $90 - ask for the rebate form - look online for a coupon too..
The if the battery goes south during warranty ANYWHERE (almost) they have a store to replace it for you.
And the X2 is a really good battery - I have one in 3 of my bikes currently -- the oldest is about 4 years and still shows 12.7 on my voltmeter.

    Easy

Have Scorpion AGM batteries in several bikes & haven't had any problems so far.

Inadvertently ordered the wrong battery once.
Realized my mistake before taking the battery out of the box & BatteryStuff exchanged it for the right one.

A lot of us have been buying the AGMs for $20 on Amazon, plus about $13 for shipping. I haven't heard any complaints about them yet. Sometimes they even go on sale…

You couldn't go wrong with a Motobatt. It's probably not the cheapest, but was tested against many AGM batteries, several with higher cranking amps, and beat them all hands down. The Motobatt was still starting a Triton V10 with proper rest periods in between starts long after the competition was stone dead. If I remember correctly they gave up the test the Motobatt was so far ahead. If memory serves, it was something like 50 starts, but I might be wrong about that.

If I need to start a V10 50 times I'll get a Motobat. Actually, I'd get a truck battery for that.
For an old GS that starts once at a time the cheapo for $20 is good enough.

I have 6 x AGM's in various bikes and they have all come from Batterymart. The same battery (Deka) is sold by a number of companies using different labeling, but the folks at Batterymart have been good to deal with.

Unless the pictures are wrong, that doesn't look like an AGM to me... An AGM should come with the acid sealed inside at the factory, not shipped along with in a separate container!)

I have four of those Big Crank batteries in four of my favorite bikes. The 20% extra cranking amps REALLY spins over the motors. I just received a Chrome Battery today in the post and will be comparing it shortly. It has 10 less cranking amps than the Big Crank and the warranty is not nearly as long. We shall see...

It's an AGM. They call it a Dry Charge AGM.
Once you put the acid in, it is sealed. No vent to **** acid all over your motorcycle. No leaking. No refilling. You can mount it sideways or upside down if you want to. When you order an AGM by mail they can't pre fill it, it's a hazardous material for shipping purposes. When you buy it from the store they are already filled. Once you fill it they are one and the same. The advantage to buying it dry is you can buy them on sale, stock up for when you need them, and not activate it until you need it. Need a battery right now, Ten o clock on Saturday night? Get one out of the box on the shelf and fill it up.
Another advantage is you know it was charged correctly if you do it yourself, and you know how long ago. The third is it's cheap with not having to support the battery store's overhead.

Looks like its a sealed maintenance free battery which is something different than an AGM battery.

                      This explains the difference:

Figured I'd add this one to the mix. AGM battery, $26, $39 shipped. Just ordered one.

I think I`ll go with the Batterymart or this I just saw at battery plus. Thanks Carl for the heads up but this one is a little less expensive from Battery plus. Just need to check the warranty info.
79 bucks. It`s a XTA1414AHL-BS AGM Decisions Decisions. Thanks guys for all the help. Now if the weather would just cooporate

Showed up today. Can't beat it $39.

The thing about china is 50 of the same products are made in the same factory, and they leave with 50 different private brand labels on them.

And all 50 are cheap sh|t. The old adage "You get what you pay for" still applies. For tooling around close to home you can go for a $20 battery but I wouldn't trust it long distance or long-term where a tow bill will more than exceed what you saved on the battery.
